photo of Deb Agarwal Deb Agarwal, Group Lead 
Deb Agarwal received her MS and PhD degrees from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Deb's primary research and development topic is advanced data infrastructure for science. She is the lead for the Berkeley Water Center Scientific Data Server Development project. Deb also researches development of secure collaborative systems to support scientific collaboration. She also leads the Network Overlays for Science project. Deb has been at LBNL since 1994.

Cecilia Aragon's research interests lie in visualization and analysis of very large scientific data sets, human-computer interaction, and collaborative visual interfaces to facilitate scientific insight. She received her Ph.D. in computer science from the University of California at Berkeley, and her B.S. in mathematics from the California Institute of Technology.
Monte Goode 
Monte Goode is working on the Berkeley Water Center Scientific Data Server.
photo of Keith R. Jackson Keith R. Jackson 
Keith R. Jackson received his BS from the Evergreen State College. His research interests include distributed systems security, component based middleware, advanced reservations, network quality of service, Grid Services, and PKI. He is currently working on the Berkeley Water Center project and on CEDPS. Keith has been at LBNL since 1998.
photo of Craig Leres Craig Leres 
Craig Leres is a hardware, operating systems and networking expert. He is particuarly familiar with FreeBSD internals including writing, modifying and debugging device drivers. He is responsible for a number of critical systems at LBNL including DHCP, DNS and NTP. He is also a member of the Lab's Computer Protection Program and LBLnet, the Lab's network group.

Chuck is currently working on software for the IceCube data acquisition system. He is also working with NERSC and others to deploy sensors in computer machine rooms. He is an expert in sensor systems.
photo of Vern Paxson Vern Paxson 
Vern Paxson received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California, Berkeley. He began at the ICIR group of the International Computer Science Institute (ICSI) in 1999. This year Vern accepted a full time faculty position at University of California, Berkeley. Vern's main active research projects are Bro, worms, DETER and NIMI.
David Robertson 
David Robertson is working on the . OSCARS On-Demand Science Networks.
photo of Mary Thompson Mary Thompson 
Mary Thompson received her MS in Computer Science from UC Santa Barbara and BS in Physics from Stanford University. Her research interests include new approaches to authentication and authorization for distributed resources and collaborative systems; and user-friendly infrastructure to enhance collaboration. She currently is working on the ESnet OSCARS project. She led the group that developed and maintains the Akenti Authorization System. She also maintains the ImgLib software that supports the Lab's photo archive. Mary has been at LBNL since 1995.
