Bajjer releases follow a standard versioning scheme:

package.major-version.minor-version.patchlevel

A major version of 0 (zero) indicates a pre-release that is missing significant functionality and/or reliability.

In addition to releases, the download directory has a subdirectory for snapshots, which are named by the date rather than a version number. These simply indicate the state of the code at that date, like a "cvs checkout" from a specific date.
